century Italian Cisele voided velvet of blue silk
and beige satin weave ground. Depicting
stylized fleur-de-lys inside hearts topped by
flowers. Edged with a rare 18th century silk and
silver metal thread galon, finished with a silver
metal fringe. Backed with a blue antique 18th
century French silk velvet.

A c.1624 English needlework casket
depicting scenes from the life of Venus
worked in colored silks. The top
depicting the judgment of Paris, the
front, back and sides with Venus and
Adonis. The interior is fitted with various
compartments, drawers, some hidden, a
pair of original mercury glass bottles, a
writing tray with ink and pounce pots.

marbled paper and colored prints

Late 17th century English needlework
box in superb state of preservation with
brilliantly colored silk floss embroidery
and silver thread trim. Original silver
leafed bun feet and white engraved
metal escutcheon and hinges. The
interior features salmon pink silk and
hand colored engraving lining paper
featuring a couple with dog. There is a
removable tray with two secret drawers,
original mirrors, one inside the lid the
other in the bottom reflecting the couple.

embroidered needlework picture
depicting the Judgment of Solomon
showing Charles I as Solomon, seated
under a canopy/pavilion. The canopy is
worked in silk, chenille and metal
threads with highlights of sequences and
beads. A soldier holds the baby boy
upside down with a mother on either
side of him. The sun in the sky has been
worked with metal threads and
surrounded by a cloud and there’s........

A circa 1630 silk floss embroidered
needlework picture depicting the
Judgment of Solomon showing Charles I
as Solomon, seated under a
canopy/pavilion with a soldier holding a
child upside down. The disputing
mothers on other side, the castle in the
background with assorted animal life.
The whole embroidery is surrounded
with green silk fringe. Notice the size of
the animals compared to the human
head, this is due to the fact the people
and animals were originally traced .....
