Antique 17th century Italian Amice or priest’s collar pillow embroidered with polychrome silk and couched metallic thread on red silk velvet. It depicts a central urn with flowers and scrolling vines. Wide borders of couched metal trim all on beige/gray very neutral silk velvet and set off with an antique French gold tassel, finished around the outside edges with bronze/gold metallic cord.
Condition: The silk velvet has rub to the nap in the middle and a few threads have come loose in the stem of the urn. All normal wear from the period, considered in excellent condition for age.
