Pair of rare circa 1705 – 1715 “bizarre” green silk brocade with silver metallic fans, undulating ribbons and foliage on a surface patchwork patterned ground that shows a clear taste for chinoiserie style. Edged with a ruche silver double-sided torchon lace that gives a fan effect, finished with a 19th century silver metallic eyelash fringe all on forest green silk velvet. Made in Lyon, France or Venice, Italy for dress wear. (Inserts are European down)
Condition: Light rub to the silver threads, to be expected of something 300 years old.
