
English 19th century, circa 1859 octagon shaped mother-of-pearl thimble holder constructed from a wooden base with slabs of mother-of-pearl from the pearl oyster, applied and two front pieces of abalone shell. Push button closure in good working order and lined within with original blue velvet. (Thimble not included for presentation purposes only)
Condition: Small chip on top of lid inside and two corners chipped off on top that can be seen in picture all consistent of age.
